Good Days & Bad Days

Mum has had some good days and some bad......we are praying for more good days so that she can get out soon.

On Saturday morning she had a few visitors and a great laugh, then in the afternoon she was in a lot of pain. While I was there with my girls, she was crying so they prayed for her. Then they both had their arms around her cuddling her. Chelsea had been listening to my MP3 player which I downloaded christian worship songs for mum and had been sitting there singing to herself while we were chatting, then when she was crying she put the earphone to her ear and then they both kissed her tears away - it was a precious moment for her - being ministered to by her grandchildren.

On Saturday I was out and about with my dad and we had lunch together. It was a special time - having a good chat and a few laughs. My dad has been quite lonely without mum at home and only has the dog and the bird to keep him company. The other day he was talking to himself and i thought - he's been spending too much time on his own (larf larf).

Its interesting when the person suffering gets all the attention and the love and the prayers but the partner is forgotten and neglected "sorry dad - will make it up to you"...He has been such a support for me and mum. He's been picking up the girls from school and taking them to the hospital to see their gran and then organising to get them home. Thank you...

On Sunday while we were at church mum had a fall in the shower and was in a bit of shock - it was a bit of a scare for her but the nurses were there to help her and help calm her down. She said later that she was in bed crying saying "i've had enough i can't take anymore". But the nursing staff have been so gentle with her and do so much for her. She says that the other patients have to beg and grovel for help - and she asks and they can't do enough for her. I said its because the other patients whinge, demand and complain whereas you are so thankful for any help they give you.

Then last night we were able to chat and laugh again - expectant of some good news. The doctor said this morning that there is a good chance of her getting out by next weekend - so that was good news.
