More than Conquerors

SCOTWISE posted this quote when he was talking about "More Than Conquerors" in his daily encouragement (Tuesday).

In the third century, Cyprian, the Bishop of Carthage, wrote to his friend Donatus:

"It is a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world. But I have discovered in the midst of it a quiet and good people who have learned the great secret of life.

They have found a joy and wisdom which is a thousand times better than any of the pleasures of our sinful life. They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls.

They have overcome the world. These people, Donatus, are Christians... and I am one of them." -- Source unknown

This has spoken to me in so many ways.

We are living in a world that is corrupt and evil and it says in John 15:19 "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you".

We can find the joy and the wisdom to lead a life that is full, abundant and overflowing. We can find peace in Jesus Christ and we can share it with others in the world around us.
